collapsable steering column and IPD urethane bushings 120-130

few more questions...
Swapped out the two rubber bushings (very worn) with a new set of urethane ones from IPD. The problem I am having is that the new ones slide back and forth with ease...I am finding the steering connected by just the tips and fear I'm one speed bump away from seperation. The rubber mount under the dash is as tight as it can be. Any suggestions?
