I was wondering if you could help me with my decision of whether to get a Crane ignition system since many of you may have experience.

I have a 1963 122s and the old points have been a problem. And somehow the new points I bought that should fit in the Bosch distributor I have do not fit.

1) Where is the best place to buy the Crane XR-700? Any parts place? Approximate price?

2) Is there a specific kit with the XR-700 that fits the old 122s?

3) What type of coil to buy with the system? It seems like a coil upgrade should happen when the Crane is installed.

4) How tough was the installation? Can a newbie do it? Are the instructions supplied with the kit understandable?

5) What are the key things to watch out for during installation?

6) Are you happy with the results? Any regrets are things you'd do differently if you had to go back?
