old volovo does not like the cold

Hi my mame is Tina, I have a old 89, 240.I keep getting stuck everywhere I drive,my doors are not closing anymore. I bought some de-icer but it dosen't seem to work.... I been holding my doors with rope!!! There's gotta be an obvious easy solution to help keep my doors shut.Winter's here for a few months now and it's going to get colder! Any suggestions??? Tina.
