Blasted%&*#@$ door panels need HELP!! 700 1988

I am so frustrated by this! The driver's side door panels-and I mean the whole enchilada-both front and rear, get caught on the door frame and get torn completely off of the door! I've already replaced the rear panel once, bolting it onto the grabhandle with machine screws and it's freakin' busted again!
What I want to know is WHY this is happening. Are the doors starting to sag? Have alien mutants surrounded poor Shirley with an evil force field? Or what?
I can't keep replacing panels, as they are becoming quite rare in the boneyard.
