pulled codes - need help 700 1989

I have a 740 GLE with B234F 16 valve. Has cold start problem after replacing engine. I also have check engine light that wasn't there before engine swap. I pulled codes and get 1-2-3 on #2 socket and 2-2-4 on #6 socket. Both of which I have found out to be coolant temperature sensor. Ther are 2 sensors. I am under the impression that one of them is just for temperature gauge and the other is for ECU. The one on the left has spade type connectors and the one to the right of it has round type. The problems started immediately following engine swap. I then swapped all sensor from old engine to current one and still have the same problem. I suspect the one on the right(round connectors)because the plug on harness looks extremely worse for the wear.

My question is which of the 2 sensors is the one giving the trouble or could it be both?
