Hello:

I spliced in a control valve in the vacuum line the feeds the waste gate actuator. I did this in hopes of slowing down the opening of the waste gate thus increasing my boost.

I must have installed the valve backwards. It’s got a ball bearing and spring type trap on it making it a one way only type valve as once I installed it, and allowed it to come up to operating temp I stomped the gas. My boost gauge went completely to the right, and my tire broke loose, the ass of the car started coming around and I had to counter steer, just as I was recovering from the fish tail attempt I heard a loud POP......then death from under the hood...

The output from the intercooler blew off and was hanging.....the old girl sputtered and stalled. I literally coasted back home.

I prayed that if the line was the bad thing to come of my insane attempt at seeking more boosts I would remove that valve and never try anything like that again.

It was the only thing wrong. After I hooked the intercooler back up all was right.

Now - I have to figure out which way that thing is supposed to go in! I need more boost!!! So the line comes from the turbo and goes down to a vacuum diaphragm. Is that vacuum or positive air pressure? Anybody have some pictures?
