Grease Boot in Propeller Shaft 900 1992

The car is a 1992/960. Multilink Rear Suspension. There is a grease boot in the propeller shaft near the rear axle. It looks like it has been throwing a little grease for a while, because a funky paste of grease and dirt has form on the arch around the shaft. Is this something too difficult to do at home? I have looked at the books and it looks like an easy job, but I wonder is I will find any surprises. What do you think? Thanks
