Power Steering Pump Brand Names 200 1988

I’ve been looking for a power steering pump for my 1988 240, and I’m seeing brands on the internet like A1 Cardone, Beck/Arnley, and Crown. Are these decent brands? The prices for rebuilt units run around $90 - $110. New is more than double.

I’m not even sure that I need a new pump. It’s squeaking, moaning (in cold weather), and leaking, but if I bring the car in and it needs a new pump, I’ll be at the mercy of the mechanic – if he goes to the dealer for a pump, it’ll cost an arm and a leg!
