I was in a junkyard recently and found the hulk of a '73-74 142. She was a total mess, but did have one thing my '78 244 doesn't- non-cracked tail lenses. When I got them home, however, I was surprised to learn they only LOOKED the same. As you know if you've got one, the lenses have "reflector boxes" in the lower outside corners. The boxes on the 140-series lenses are larger, so they won't fit the 240 tailights without pretty extensive surgery. GRR! What's up with that?
