Hi,

Some history: I own a ’85 760 turbo, within the past 4000 miles I‘ve replaced the FPR, plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. I have about 1000 miles before my next 3000-mile oil change. Running Mobil-1 synthetic with no less than 93 octane in my fuel. My brick is very well taken care of and, up until yesterday, ran like a turbo charged dream.

Symptoms:
Speedo bounces around except at speeds over 60. Had an under carriage wash last week and the engine acted like it wanted to die then cleared up. We had some heavy snow yesterday. While taking a right hand turn (mildly sliding of course) engine died and didn’t start back up. After about 30 to 45 minutes I turned over the engine and it started. Drove home. Next day, In the morning I normally start my car and let it run for 5 to 10 minutes to let her warm up (no catalytic converter). The car warmed up with no problems. I drove it about a ½ mile and it died. It felt like it was out of gas. This time I wasn’t able to start the engine again. I had to call a tow truck to take my car 3 blocks. Bogus! I’ve looked though many posts and the 700 FAQ and found this could be any number of problems from the hall sensor to one or both of my fuel pumps. Do any of these symptoms sound familiar? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m stumped and have no idea where to start.
