Installing aftermarket cd player in my 84 240

Alright I know there have been a hundred threads on this but I was mostly wondering about the installation process. I plan on getting a cd player from Crutchfield and they include instructions for installation. Now being totally clueless about this sort of thing is it a simple task of just plugging a relay in or will i have to connect/solder wires together? I plan on installing in the bottom dash where the stock radio is. Speaking of which, how do I get this out!
