940 turbo coolant leak by oil filter 900 1993

My wife's 940 turbo is leaking coolant from the "nipple" (so read the parts diagram at the dealer) that is right below the oil filter. I replaced the hoses that looked brittle and noticed a drip at that time. The next day after she drove it most of the fluid had drained out on to the driveway once she go home. Two weeks ago the car sat over the holidays and had a puddle when we returned. I filled up the fluid and it drained out again. The water pump was leaking so I put in a new one and thought the leaking (draining) would be fixed. At that time it must have been the water pump and the nipple.
Now the draining is clearly only the nipple. I removed it and it looks like it is a straight through fitting. I thought there would be a check valve or something in it.
Can anyone lend some assistance and wisdom? We have had the car for two years and this has just started to cause use problems.
Thank you.
Alan
