Sunroof Question 200

I pulled the sunroof out to replace the seals and back behind the rear seal is a 1 inch wide peace that runs along the back.It's dried out and falling apart.What is it another seal and do I nead it or can I remove it? Can you buy this part or has anyone used something else in it's place? I also want to adjust the sunroof,one side hits the front when it's closed.How do you get the sunroof straight? Thanks for any help.Charlie
