240 B23F Turbo vs non-Turbo wiring harness? 200

When I yanked the manifold to attempt to patch air leaks (all to fix a loping / stall at low idle problem that would cause me to fail inspection, see posting here http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=905563), I opened a can of worms.

Almost literally. I knew the stories about the 1983 240 B23F wiring harnesses, and had had my issues / done minor splices in the past, but am now looking at exposed wires / insulation turned to dust. Ouch. Amazing that my idle control valve was getting any signal at all.

SO, the question: Do I pay $300-$500 for a new (or new used) wiring harness, or can I effectively use the great-condition used harness taken off of my buddy's crashed 240 B23F Turbo?

+ My B23F is NON-turbo, 1983 244GL
+ His is a 1984 245 GLT.
+ The harness is a "OEM Volvo Engine Wiring Harness, P/N 3515393, for 1981 , 1982 , 1983 , 1984 and 1985 Volvo 240 , 242, 244, 245 GLT Series with the B21FT turbo engine, intercooled and non-intercooled".

Anyone know how different the harnesses are / whether this is a smart idea or not? Hints & Tips?

Many thanks...

- KE
