thanks Dave Stephens, bad temp sensors (poor running 16v) 700 1989

Thanks for the great response from Dave. It turns out the slow progress was a dumb move on my part,,, I tested the gauge water temp. sensor instead of the ECU sensor . Readings of the ECU sensor were too high (in ohms) and therefore would cause too rich mixtures. Considering that it is measuring off by about 20dF on the low end and about 60 on the high end I'm not sure this is the whole problem. Maybe I'll try a switch with the other 16v while I await the new part.

On 16v the ECU sensor is under the #1 intake and has a white connector, the gauge sensor is under #2 and has a grey connector. The knock sensor is under the gauge sensor.

Also did you know if you disconnect the AMM, the upshift light blinks rapidly?..interesting..
