Got my cylinder head back from the machine shop after valve job & resurfacing. Checking valve clearance after re-installing, and before starting the engine, noted all clearances were way tight -- in most 1/2 of minimum. Reading the FAQ on replacing the valve stem tip rubber cushions (done at the shop), it seems the clearance will be tight before engine is run. My question is: should I do an initial valve adjustment (kit from IPD is on the way) before starting the engine or do a post start-up, cold engine adjustment, or both? Based on info in the FAQ regarding initial clearance difficulty after new "valve hushers" are installed, sounds like I should run it for awile first. As always, appreciate any responses.
