Normal range for temp. gauge 200

Quick question -

Just started driving my first 240. I am wondering about the in-dash temperature gauge. When my car is fully warmed up, the needle sits right on the bottom line. Is this normal, or should I start questioning whether my thermostate is stuck open?

That brings up another question. I have noticed that there are two different thermostates available, one for hotter climates and one for cooler climates. I live in Utah where summer temperatures are commonly close to 100 and winter temps are commonly in the teens. Any advice on choosing the correct therm.

Thanks!
