1982 240 wont idle after months and hundreds spent please help!!!! 200 1982

HI!
I have been working on my own volvo for about 3 months now, and only have owned it for four! I have the faith that once all of this investment is done it will be a wonderful car...but I am stumped!
Its a cis injection system with the chrysler distributor...the main problem was the wiring needed to be replaced (the car would run and then stall all of a sudden) all the wires where showing and a big mess. I'm guessing that at some point while removing the harness something shorted because now it simply doesnt idle at all...it starts only when cold, warms up (while i hold the idle steady) and once I let it stall, it wont start again. I'm not a big fan of electric work, and not really good at it...but i did install both wiring harnesses properly....is one or more of the thermo swithches gone now? Any suggestions greatly appreciated! I want this labor of love to finally work out...thank you.
