Checking for signal at fuel injectors and ignition coils 900 1995

Wizards,

I need to check for signal at both the fuel injectors and the ignition coils on our 95 960. I am no electronics wizard so I need a little help. Sorry for the elementary questions but I'm always concerned about toasting an expensive ECM and feel more comfortable working with 110V home current.

1) Of the following tools, which is best/easist to use to check for intermittant fuel/spark signal : DVOM, 12V test light, or an Analog Voltmeter ? My gut tells me a test light.

2) If using a test light I assume I would have to hook up to the 'signal' wire and then a ground?

3) If using the Voltmeter (D or A) do I hook one lead to each wire at the injector/coil, OR, to just the signal wire and a good ground?

4) Do the + power wires for the injectors and coils have power as long as the key is on? I assume the coils and Injectors are tripped thru the negative side thru the ECM?

Can someone verify the signal wire for the fuel injector groups is Pink/White and Green/Brown. The solid Green wire to all six injectors is the + wire.

Can someone verify the solid Green/Red wire to all six coils is the + wire. And the other six unique wires are the signal wires.

Much Thanks, DEWFPO
