Replaced PNP; Still Get Code 1-1-4: Other Questions 900 1995

1995 960 wagon

I was getting a code 1-1-4, so I bought a new PNP. I went ahead and replaced the part WITHOUT following the guidelines set forth in the brickboard maintenance section. I simply jacked up the car, while it was in park, pulled the old PNP and put the new one in exactly as the old was came out. I didn’t “align” anything per say, I just swapped parts. Is there any adjustment that it truly critical?

I never erased the original 1-1-4 code, so I don’t know if the 1-1-4 I have now is new or the same old one.

Now check this out. The car pretty much wont shift. If I put it into drive or reverse or whatever, if it decides to work, it will take time (like 8-15 seconds) to shift. Other times the car won’t shift at all. In those cases, if I turn off the car and start it back up again it usually works (with the time delay I described above) but eventually it will revert back to the non-shifting state.

Any ideas?

Thanks
