My 1993 240 classic (B230F engine) has 146,000 miles on it and I am getting ready to replace the timing belt and timing belt tensioner as well as the drive belts. While I have access to the front of the engine, I was wondering what other suggestions you all may have as far as other things to replace to improve reliability and more importantly my peace of mind.
The car has original alternator, waterpump, radiator, etc. Should I replace any of these (ounce of prevention) now? I am interested in possibly getting the nissens 3-row copper radiator in there before summer. Is it worth the time & $? I want to have the system as good as I can get, and have around $500-600 to spend on parts. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
BTW, Regular maintenance is already in effect. Oil & filter changes every 3000 miles. Just replaced air filter, plugs, plug wires, distributor cap & rotor, and battery. Thanks for all of your suggestions!
