245 seat latch 200 1990

The latch release on my rear seat is broken. Is there an easy way to put a new latch lever in. This is the plastic lever on the back of seatback that lowers it. I looked at junkyard latches and there is a wire that runs through the handle to activate it. I didn't see how to detach with out cut the wire.
