3rd seat question 200 1992

hi all,

i have a quick question about the 3rd seat in a 240: how does the backrest stay up? i mean it stays up but i can just fold it back down. it doesn't look like it snaps onto the seat and it also doesn't engage in any way after i pull it up. is there a trick, is something wrong or is that the way it is supposed to be?


just wanted to check before i buckle my kids in....
