Possible error in the Bently Manual 200 1990

I just ran all the diagnostic tests for the LH2.4 as described in the bently manual on page 241-14. All the test were within spec - the only test I didn't do was the coolant temp sensor since that involved removing the coolant - which I couldn't do now. There were two tests that were out of spec.
1) the ac microswitch signal. I don't think this would affect the very, very lean condition I'm getting. I don't care that the ac doesn't work so it's not a problem for me, unless anyone thinks that would affect my lean condition.
2) the o2 sensor test. This is where I think the Bently's might have a problem. Logically, what they have written doesn't make any sense. They say that between pin 24 (which appears to me to be the same wire that goes to the o2 sensor) and the plug disconnected and touching ground - you should have no continuity. This makes no sense, Basically they're telling you to touch the sensor plug to ground and see if there is a complete circuit to the other lead which is also touching ground. ?!? Then they say that between pin 24, ground with the o2 sensor connected you should have continuity. This also make no sense. What I do have is about 28.15 ohms on the meter. Is that in line with other people's readings?

I still can't find a fault in the system that is causing my lean, lean condition.
