Coolant And ATF A Bad Mix 200

Found out my transmission slipping problem was due to a breach in radiator allowing coolant to get into ATF. Changed radiator, flushed out ATF and problem went away. Was curious about this issue so had ATF checked for how much coolant was in it. As girlfriends mom is a chemical scientist with Exxon she did the analysis. Coolant was only aprox. 6% of total. This is only aprox.15 ounzes(assuming aprox. 8x quarts total of ATF). So little yet caused so much trouble !! Wow !! Radiator was original one(1988). Guess lesson learned is just because radiator doesn't have coolant leak and looks good doesn't mean it is good as it may be leaking/have breach(unseen) into ATF portion and cause problems with tranny slipping. Just thought I'd share this information. Very best.
