Which 240 to buy - a creampuff '81 with 67,000m or an 84 with 150,000m 200

Hi All,
I'm in a quandry, need a 200 series Volvo on a limited budget. Choice of two, details below. Which one to buy and why ? What to look for on either during inspection. Any help would be appreciated.
'81 sedan 67,000 miles, auto, one owner, serviced by mileage rather than age, full service history, do dents or problems, looks mint. Very much a plain jane ( sky blue with steel wheels and hubcaps ).

'84 sedan 150,000 miles, 4 speed auto, couple of owners, full service history, still looks good, no dents, well looked after. Sharper looking with factory alloys and metallic paint.

While this might seem to be a no brainer, I'm more concerned the early low mileage car might have some problems crop up when used regularly, or have problems associated with its lack of use over the years. The later car with more mileage and regular use is in good serviceable condition, the 4 speed auto appeals over the earlier 3 speed.

The role of the car is to drive my elderly mother around the place - a " driving Miss Daisy " thing. Had a '79 auto wagon in the past, great vehicle, high mileage but maintained well, gave no drama.

Which way do I go? What to look out for in both vehicles ? I have to fly a reasonable disatance to look at both cars, then a long trip home. Both cars are a similar price, the lower mileage one is a tad cheaper. Whichever one I choose will remain in stock condition. Live in a somewhat isolated location, maintenance will be down to me.

Thanks for the space, will be changing email addys in a few days, hence not registered user as yet. Looking forward to renewing my association with 240 Series car, my past experience has been good - still have a Haynes workshop manual !
cheers
richo
