AW7x tranny in my car. Shifter has been loose for a while now and recently starting making metallic clicking sounds when shifting. Got annoying enough for me to take care of it today when it warmed up to about 50F outside. :)
Anyway, once again, a job that should have taken about an hour at most took me much longer due to seized parts/pins. I hate seized stuff. All I can say is, THANK GOD FOR PBLASTER because it would have never broken loose without that stuff. Phew.
The job went smoothly other than the seized parts. Everything is very straightforward and easy to see once you get under the vehicle. I actually only replaced one of the bushings because the other was in good shape (no looseness or cracks at all.)
So instead of taking 30 mins, the job took me 2.5 hours of backbreaking wiggling/hammering/prying to get a little securing pin loose. Argh!
Also, thanks to everyone who replied in my previous thread with encouragement and advice on the job. The shifter feels great now!
