I bought my '81 245 for $200 a year ago, and didn't want to spend much on it so I bought some cheap WalMart or Autozone (can't remember) seat covers for the badly cracked front seats. They wore out in several months, since they're a very thin inexpensive material. I bought some better seat covers at a local parts store but they didn't come close to fitting. So I looked online for some higher-quality covers that fit.
I found this place that makes mostly truck and SUV covers, but for some reason does Volvo seats as well. Marathonseatcovers.com. I chose the Seat Armor because I'm cheap and didn't want foo-foo velour, and wouldn't put camo or Southwestern saddleblanket covers in it.
These covers are two-piece, so when installed they look more like original upholstery without being baggy in the seat crevice. They were $130 plus $10 shipping, and took several weeks for them to make and ship. I have a friend in the upholstery business who wanted $250/bucket to re-upholster them, and the rears are gonna need it eventually too. My interior is butterscotch, so the tan covers don't match exactly, but look a lot better than the worn-out ones. Here are a couple of pics:
