more small clock problems. 200 1987

ok so before i had a small clock next to the radio. it kept the time (not very accurately, though) but the backlighting didn't work even after i replaced the bulb. so since that didn't work and it kept bad time, i decided to get another one. however, i have a different problem with this one. the backlighting works but it doesn't keep time. could it be a problem with wiring, the clock itself, or maybe even my tachometer?
