Rough Idle problem - 1995 960 - done everything I can think of!! 900

95' 960 with 118K miles. Idles very rough with AC on or off. The whole car shakes. But there is no hesitation and the engine doesn't die.
I took off and cleaned the throttle body, changed the plugs, changed the air filter, changed the flame trap and the flame trap grummet.
I read the codes and there are no codes 1-1-1 out of all the sockets. I had a similar problem about a year and a half ago and turned out to be the Mass Air Flow sensor. But then it would also hesitate and the engine would die. I changed the MAF. no problems since. The MAF has only been on the car for a 1 1/2 year so I don't think it's that, but I don't know how to test it. I have never cleaned the EGR valve on this car as is recommended in the manual. I don't know where it is. It would be really nice if someone could post a picture of the EGR valve. Could a dirty EGR valve cause a rough idle??
Any help is greatly appreciated.
