Initial start up S90-V90

When I first start my 3.0 V90 up it revs to around 15/1600 revs and stays there for about 5 seconds then settles at normal idle speed. Is this usual for when you start these beasts up? All the Saab 9K's I've had idled immediately at normal idle speed so this seems unusual to me.
