Throttle sticking or something like that... 900

This 960 wagon I got is running great, however I discovered its first quirk last night while out driving around town. I accellerated from 0-45 mph somewhat briskly, but not foot to the floor. I got the engine up to about 3500 rpm and let off. I noticed the revs stayed right where they were, as if I had engaged the cruise control. I just watched what was happening and I was slowly accellerating up to about 50 mph.

So I did what came naturally and hit the brakes and pulled into my driveway. When I put it in park and let off the gas, the car reved at about 3000 rpm. To solve the issue, a quick tap to the gas pedal made it idle back down to normal. Since then, I have had this happen a few times in traffic. You can feel it, and the quick tap of the pedal always brings the revs down. It's basically like driving a motorcycle with friction cruise control on the throttle.

However, going by the feeling in my foot, it doesn't feel as if the throttle rocker is sticking. There is no slack in the cable when this happens. It returns to zero position even though it's revving higher. Any thoughts? Do these cars have throttle position sensors?

Also, if someone could give me the Cliffs notes version of how to pull codes on the '92 960 I'd appreciate it. So far, the car is not scary to drive, but I know my fiancee would freak out if it happened to her while she was driving.
