Ignition electrical switch. Intermittant 'nothing' at start position. 140-160 1974

Intermittant 'nothing' at start position. Swapped electrical switch for a salvage one. Same thing this morning. Electrical system is okay, jumped it at starter to start and drove it to work. Is there a lockout of some sort on manual tranny cars?

One thing that helps immensely, I found by luck, is to swap the screws for hex head 3mm fine thread screws. That makes putting it in a lot easier, than wrestling with the mirror and light BS.

Alsooooo, what does the center pin on the switch do? It seems that if the switch is slightly loose on the keyset, it works, but when tightened, it doesn't.
