I've been setting up my '82 245 CI [k-jet] car, and have a question for those of you in the know: The Bentley manual gives the setting for the later models, beginning with the '83. Mine is the B21F-9 CI. Are the settings the same as for the Turbo model discussed in the Bentley manual [duty cycle 49 percent]? Or are the settings different for my old car? I have both a duty-cycle meter and a dwell meter to check the setting. Any help would be appreciated. Also, the anti-tamper seal on the airflow/fuel meter [fuel distributor] was gone when I started work on it, and whoever knocked it out left a good sized hole in its place. It seems to me that this might cause a vacuum leak under high load, not to mention that the big draft would be of unfiltered air. Any ideas? Maybe there's something in the airflow meter to prevent such a vacuum bypass. In any case, when I'm all done I intend to leave the hole covered over somehow. Before I get there, I think I'll try a propane test to see if the rpm's spike when I allow propane to be drawn into the hole.
Thanks again in advance for your help!
