Had a problem with my 90 740GLE 16 valve transmission. Every morning it would not shift for about 2 minutes as I went through all of the gears and
blipped the throttle. It would then shift and be fine after that. I took out the valve body after trying all of the ususal fixes and cleaned it used new gaskets and put it back. Now that problem is solved but I created another one. It will not shift to fourth gear until it reaches 50mph aqnd when it reaches 40mph when slowing the car it seens to downshift to third and then all other shifts are normal. There is a perceptable slight shift when slowing at 40mph and the a somewhat powerful downshift that slows the car and then it's smooth until it stops. What did I do? could it be a spring in the wrong place.I would appreiciate any and all comments! Joe 90 740 gle, 87 dl ,both at 150k
