trim glue 200 1986

The rubbery trim on the drivers door (bottom outside trim) has worked its way loose again on my old brick. over the years i have tried all sorts of glues from binary epoxies to super glue to hot glue. none of them seem to last more than about 3 months...last time i completely cleaned the surfaces with a light solvent to remove road grime, but that seemed to make little difference. has anyone had this issue or do you have a good product that will actually stick this damn trim back on? please advise...
