Knock, Knock, Knock from under my seat 200 1989

Good Evening gentleman, I have to say that I am the proud owner of my 3rd 240 and this is my first possible tranny prob. After starting and being put in gear it is fine. But when moving from a light there is a audible and physical knocking. It is also acceleration dependent. Harder take off produces harder knocking/ tapping. Help, my wife drives this car and I dont want it to break down on her. Any and all advise will be taken. Oh, again, this noise is not comming from the engine or anywhere in the bay. It is literally under my seat.
