-follow up to jacking points- gas tank strap questions and lines on fuel s. u. 700 1988

Hi!

As you may have read earlier, I was in the process of reinstalling that gas tank that the shop removed.

MANY THANKS FOR THE JACKING UP POINTS REPONSE!

I have the tank up using all of the brackets that were left in the floor board and some common sense. Is there a trick to getting the straps bolted? I have the cross bracket bolted up and the tank resting on the little lip. The straps are in their slots but no matter how much I fuss, I can't seem to bolt them into place. Is there a trick? Or do I need to borrow my neighbor and see if he can manhandle it up! LOL. (I'm petite and 110lbs)

Next question is about the lines coming off of the fuel sending unit.

Okay, so with some common sense the little hoses with small diameters will fit on the corresponding spouts...the big filler hose fits on the big spout on the tank, the wires get fed through the hole under the 3rd seat since there is a grommet on it and the wires are really clean must go inside...

There is a fitted high pressure? line that has a bolt running through the circle part...WHERE DOES THIS LINE GO? I'M SHAKING LINES EVERYWHERE TO FIND THE CORRESPONDING SPOUT BUT I DON'T SEE IT!

Now the mechanics did remove the external pump & strainer and the little cage that it sits in... there is a metal line that looks like it would pop into a rubber hose...but on the pump there is another circle end...

These don't seem to be right? Did the mechanic leave some parts out? Also I have a bunch of little bolts.. and I dont' think having extra ones is a good idea :)

Anyone out here in Brickland want to get a few pics to look at???

Maybe play a game of NAME THAT BOLT???

:) BLESS ALL OF YOU FOR GETTING THIS FAR IN MY LONG POSTS!

If you ever need Z31 help just shoot me an email!

Zya!

Anna
