Brake lines and Caliper removal 200 1989

I have repacked the bearings before and now it's time to replace the discs.
Am I missing something because when I did repack the bearings I had to carefully pull and bend the solid brake lines coming off the Strut to the Caliper. Is that's what Volvo intended? There's no way to pull the caliper without stressing those Lines? There is no way to unbolt the Lines from the strut?
Never seen this on any car other then the Volvo.
Thanks
