Leaky sunroof, beginning of the route to repair.... S90-V90

Rained hard yesterday, and was out driving with wife.sig in pilot seat.

Noticed wetness on fuzzy fabric-ed headliner (not like a 240). A few drips. Then a harder braking, and we both got washed by a flow, not a drip. Yikes, it's cold.

Twiddled with the opening and closing position of the moonroof, sunroof, slant up combo that the 1997 965 has. Changed, but still drips.

Called my indie Volvo tech, he does what the dealer would do, but for less. Uses Volvo parts, no after-market or re-built parts. New glass required, with not-yet-leaking seal and bond to the drive system part. Part quote = $800. So what's next?

I will be checking with a good body shop, and other sources, too. BUT - brickboard answers are ALWAYS good, so I am asking -

Have you experience with this problem? What did you do? Is it a fix that allows the sunroof to still be opened?

Thanks in advance,

Bob
