740 turbo 1985 sluggish no power 700 1985

Hi,

My 1985 740 turbo is running sluggish and the turbo needle goes into the yellow sooner then normal. I heard a rattle at start up one morning then noticed this two days later. My guess is the catalitic converter because the rattle came from under the car and it went away within 1 minute. I noticed the problem two days later. Please advise.
