Trouble getting o2 sensor out of exhaust manifold 200 1988

Just started this job and I can't get that sucker out, I've already snipped the wires so I'm committed to finishing. I can't seem to get a wrench in there and none of my sockets work. Do I have to have a special o2 sensor removal tool? And now something completley unrelated, I noticed a nozel just behind and below the exhaust manifold on the block next to the firewall. It has backwards ribbing like there should be a hose connected to it, any ideas what this might be? Thanks in advace for any information!
