My 87 745TI i running very rough.
The story. yesterday after a lond drive and a full tank of gas on the way home the car started to feel wrong at low speeds and rmp as in misfire and sometimes i´d have to floor it just to move, but at higher speeds it would run fine.
Then when i got home Threequarter of a tank by now the car would stall, not start, then it would runn for 5 min. fine then no start, the no starts are crank it tries to catch but imediatly will die. then it got to the point of where it would not start anymore, it would just crank tried to start but no go. so i tested for spark
It has spark, i switched out the fuel pump relay it does the same it does click and both pumps do run. the injector click etc. so i´m stumped. i decided to remove the return fuel line from the fuel rail and fuel does come out but in spurts but mostly air. so i figure i have a suction line air leak, I suspect the leak is in the tank so i put another gallon of fuel and voiala the car runs very rough, so i remove the in tank fuel line and there it is the ruber hose that connects the in tank fuel pump to the line has a hole in it so i take it of replace it and the car still runs very rough i don´t know what to check i´ve tried to scower over the faq and i´ve checked everything i´ve could.
Does this sound familiar to anyone.
Things i´ve done
Replaced Amm with a known good used one....... no dif...
Replaced the power stage......................no dif....
Replaced the coil.............................no dif....
Checked the radio supression relay............clicks and makes good contact.
The car runs rough now it will cruse at higway speeds but to get it up to 20mph is a chalange it goes in spurts no mater where the throtle is. after 2500rpm it will run better but still not right.
