97 960 purchase advice sought

My daughter is looking at a 97 960 at a dealer, with 60,000 miles on it. She has an 89 760 with 180,000 on it, and is ready to move ahead a few years. She looked at the S40's but decided they were too much like all the other cute little sedans that are made now; all squeezed from the same tube.
I drive a 92 960, among three other older Volvos, and know something about that model. However, is there anything about the 1997 960 I/we should know? IS it much different? Have upgrades or improvements been done to it? etc, etc.
