Engine cutting out while driving 200 1978

1978 244DL - 2.1 Litre

After replacing fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, air filter, we have a problem....

Car starts, has very rich exhaust, and once engine warms up, it starts cutting out. Can't climb hills at all, no power. Any ideas as to what may be the cause?


Also, cannot loosen distributor - any ideas on how to get it loose?
