The timing belt tensioner roller on my '93 940 went - the belt didn't break, but slipped forward, spun, wore a hole in the front cover and filled it up with belt fibers. Also jumped some teeth. I read the FAQ, but I've kind of blown the "don't turn the pulleys with the belt off" thing, as this all happened while the engine was turning.
What is the best way to make sure the cam end is at the TDC position once I start the repair?
If I've got the mark on the crank end at the 0 degree mark on the cover (and make sure #1 piston is on the right stroke), is that TDC down on that end?
Thanks
