Replacing motor mount. Need advice. 700 1987

Great Ones,
I'm getting ready to change the passenger side motor mount (under the turbo).
I have a Haynes manual that is worthless. I remember changing mounts on a 240 yrs. ago. I placed a 1x6 under the oil pan and jacked up the motor after I had loosend the mounts. Do I have to remove the metal "struts" or can I just spin the nuts off the top and bottom of the old mount and slip in the new?
