Hello all-
The car is a '91 940 Turbo auto with 137,xxx miles. A couple days ago it seemed to take extra cranks before starting. The next time I tried, it just cranked and cranked with no luck (though occasionally it would sputter like it *wanted* to start).
All signs seemed to point to the rpm sensor so I replaced it, the car started fine and I drove home (8 hrs). It started every time I stopped and had no running probs. This afternoon I went out to go somewhere and it did the same thing as before.
I usually *can* get it to start by using the throttle when it tries to sputter to life, but it will then not idle (it jumps up and down) without throttle for a few minutes. If I drive it, it seems fine.
I also swapped out the fp relay for another. No luck.
Thoughts?
thanks,
-erik
