240 blinker 200 1981

Would be worth it to get even a $10-$15 electrical multitester (Volts/Ohms/continuity) to help you check this out.

There must be a break in continuity somewhere - hot source going to bulb, or the ground path from bulb to holder or holder to wire or wire to ground screw/body.

You can keep cleaning all connections over and over till it works - or you can use a tester to find where it's not working and clean that.

Possibly a wire break inside the insulation - though not that likely. A tester can find that, but that's one thing that repeated cleaning won't fix.
