Mileage and Such for a 122 120-130

I searched the archives for threads relating to the 122's mileage. Obviously very different for city/highway and between FI, SUs, or Webers but not much that's definitive. With prices climbing so very high, driving my 945 60 miles round trip every day, five days a week is going to cost around $50.00 a week.
I can't sustain that for too long.

My second Volvo is a 67 P220 with no roof rack (anymore). My engine needs a rebuild - burns oil - but it's in pretty good shape otherwise. My setup is a stock B18D (rebuilt twice) with factory cam and dual SUs (earlier model).

A review of the topic on the BB suggested mileage of ~20-25 in town and up to 30 and 35 on the highway. I hoping I can get my 122 up there (at least better than the 940) and maybe save me a little/lot of cash on my commute. 60-75% of my commute is highway driving, and the city portion is pretty straightforward w/o a lot of waiting.

What sort of mileage should I be looking to get reasonably? What can I do to maximize it (aside from keeping my foot off the gas)? And, can anyone recommend an SU-experiences mechanic in the St. Louis Region? I think gettin gmy carbs into perfect tune would be the best thing I can do w/o rebuilding the motor (actually I have a spare that I'm working on).

Thanks. I hope none of you are down in Louisianna.
